NIGHTMARES ON WAX - SHAPE THE FUTURE

Nightmares On Wax - Shape The Future - Warp

Eight albums in and George Evelyn and co show no sign of tiring or wilting, instead banging out release after release of club 'n' bar-friendly nu-soul and chilled out beats for what will arguably be his third generation of listeners.

Shape The Future is as exemplary as you'd expect, ripe production and blissed-out vibes a-plenty, making possibly his most complete work since 2002's Mind Elevation.

Opener Back to Nature is deep bass downbeat electronica with 'consciousness' dialogue and heavy rolling Big Chill atmospherics that recalls the '90s and usher in the 2020's in equal measure. Much of Shape The Future is borne out of the good old days and nights of yore but bears fruit well within its sell-by date. Tomorrow and Typical should be soundtracking your comedown sometime soon.

NoW haven't/hasn't released a bad album across 25+ years, but Shape The Future is up there with their/his best.
