FORTHCOMING - SEX PISTOLS 35TH ANNIVERSARY BOX SET - NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS

Landmark classic 1977 punk album gets 4-disc and extras-laden remastering and content overhaul

For those that have followed the Sex Pistols' fame, fortune and flagrant disregard for authority, you'd be forgiven for presuming that, after all these years and subsequent re-releases since 1977, there cannot possibly be anymore to squeeze out of their snotty vaults. It's a fair assumption, but you'd be wrong. The new owners of the Pistols' catalogue, Universal since January 2012, are out to prove the doubters wrong with news of a multi-disc format that makes the recent Pink Floyd treasure-chest look like a milk-carton.

The album that kick-started a thousand bedroom rebellions and a slew of like-minded (but, in some cases, dire) punk-rock bands is due for renewal - "Never Mind The Bollocks" is about to be unleashed as a quadruple-CD/DVD set, littered with memorabilia and collectibles that may, MAY, just draw a line under the biggest chapter in British music since The Beatles.

Due for release on 24th September 2012, this new collection will contain a 2012 remaster of the classic album by original producer Chris Thomas, a second disc of 1977 studio rarities, b-sides and odd sods that will include the now-infamous "Belsen Was a Gas" demo and six tracks from the original untouched Spunk bootleg, a third CD of high-end 1977 live material, most of it unissued, plus a DVD that will contain rare and unseen live performances, promos and interviews, including the Heyday tapes that appeared on cassette on Factory and CD on LTM.

But that's not all.

To help you realize your dream of one day owning the most expensive punk-single in history (worth about £12,000 with a tail-wind at auctions), the super-deluxe edition will carry a 7" replica of the A&M pressing of "God Save The Queen". Not forgetting a 4ft x 3ft poster, a handwritten lyric insert, stickers and a 1977 hardback diary containing exclusive and rare images of the Sex Pistols. Holy pin-badges, how much is that all going to cost, you may ask? One can but wonder, although Amazon currently have it listed at £95 (less a penny).

Take deep breaths - it will have been worth it...... never mind the previous, here's the real bollocks.
